New Delhi/ Bhopal July 16, 2026

Madhya Pradesh secured fresh investment proposals worth nearly Rs 1,592 crore in the textile sector while pitching itself as a preferred manufacturing destination during Bharat Tex 2026 in New Delhi on Thursday. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav invited domestic and global investors to expand their presence in the state, highlighting its policy support, infrastructure and skilled workforce.

The investment outreach also yielded tangible results. During the event, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with several companies and institutions. According to the state government, Madhya Pradesh received investment proposals worth about Rs 1,592 crore, expected to generate employment for more than 15,700 people. The programme was attended by Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh along with leading industrialists and representatives of global textile brands.

Addressing investors, Dr Yadav said Madhya Pradesh offers everything needed for the textile industry. The state has abundant cotton, a skilled workforce, reliable infrastructure and investor-friendly policies. He said the government is committed to creating a stable business environment and providing full support to new investments.

The Chief Minister highlighted the PM MITRA Mega Textile Park coming up in Dhar district. The project was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr Yadav said the park will create nearly three lakh direct and indirect jobs. It will also benefit more than six lakh cotton farmers across the Malwa-Nimar region by connecting agriculture, manufacturing and global markets.

Calling textiles one of Madhya Pradesh's strongest sectors, Dr Yadav said the state combines a rich weaving tradition with modern industrial growth. He referred to the globally recognised Maheshwari and Chanderi sarees as examples of the state's textile heritage. He said these traditional brands continue to create livelihoods while strengthening India's textile identity.

The Chief Minister also underlined the state's improving industrial ecosystem. He said all subsidy claims due up to May 2026 have been cleared through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Nearly Rs 5,500 crore has been released to industries over the past one-and-a-half years. Timely financial support, he said, has strengthened investor confidence.

Dr Yadav said affordable power has emerged as another major advantage for industries in Madhya Pradesh. The state has expanded its capacity in solar and pumped-storage power generation. He said competitive electricity tariffs have reduced operating costs and made the state an attractive destination for manufacturing.

Interacting with business leaders, the Chief Minister said the experience of entrepreneurs is as valuable as government policy. Their feedback, he said, helps the state improve its industrial ecosystem and respond to emerging business needs.

Inviting investors to become partners in the state's growth story, Dr Yadav said Madhya Pradesh is ready to work closely with global brands and the Union government to expand India's textile manufacturing capacity. "Everything an investor needs is available in Madhya Pradesh," he said, adding that the state welcomes long-term investment in one of India's fastest-growing manufacturing sectors.
