Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday said Madhya Pradesh would move towards implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) later this month. He made the announcement while paying tributes to Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his 125th birth anniversary in Bhopal.

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav garlanded Dr Mookerjee's statue at Lalghati and said Madhya Pradesh was set to join the states moving towards a common civil code. Referring to Dr Mookerjee's vision of "One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag and One Head," he said the state was committed to carrying forward that vision.

The Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership had enabled the country to take several decisions considered important for national development. He said India was gaining a distinct identity on the global stage while Madhya Pradesh was contributing to that journey through industrial growth, infrastructure and governance reforms.

Referring to the state's industrial push, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said Madhya Pradesh had recently entered the defence manufacturing sector with the foundation stone of its first major defence project. He said the state was moving towards becoming a manufacturing hub for defence equipment while creating new employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister also said he would inaugurate a major industrial park at Satgarhi, describing it as another step towards strengthening industrial infrastructure and employment generation. He said the facility would provide an integrated ecosystem for industries with supporting infrastructure for workers and businesses.

Highlighting Bhopal's future development, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said the city was emerging as an important economic centre. He announced that Madhya Pradesh's largest convention centre would be built in Bhopal near the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Hall, with a seating capacity of around 5,000 people. Another convention centre at Satgarhi is planned to accommodate between 10,000 and 15,000 people.

The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh currently has the lowest unemployment rate in the country. He said the state government would continue to focus on industrialisation, infrastructure development and welfare measures aimed at creating jobs and improving people's quality of life.

Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and a former Union Minister, is remembered for his contribution to national integration and his advocacy of a unified constitutional framework. His birth anniversary is observed every year by the BJP and its ideological affiliates across the country.
