A new Police Duty Portal was launched in Ujjain to enhance police deployment for Simhastha 2028, integrating with eHRMS for streamlined operations.

In a significant step towards strengthening administrative preparedness for Simhastha 2028, a key highlight of the high-level review meeting held in Ujjain on Wednesday, was the launch of the “Police Duty Portal,”. A technology-driven platform fully integrated with the eHRMS system.Director General of Police Kailash Makwanaunveiled the portal in Ujjain, which is designed to streamline the entire process of police deployment for the mega religious event.
The portal enables end-to-end digital management, including online registration, verification, training coordination, data management, and duty allocation for police personnel volunteering for Simhastha duty. By simply entering their Employee ID or unique code, personnel can access and auto-fetch their details from the eHRMS database, ensuring accuracy and minimizing manual intervention. Once verified, the registration is completed seamlessly, with confirmation sent via SMS, making the system both user-friendly and efficient.Officials stated that the initiative marks a shift towards transparent, accountable, and technology-enabled human resource management, reducing paperwork while improving coordination across departments. The portal is expected to play a crucial role in managing large-scale manpower deployment efficiently, given the anticipated massive turnout of devotees at Simhastha-2028.
Addressing the meeting, Makwana described Simhastha-2028 as not merely an administrative responsibility but a symbol of India’s spiritual, cultural, and global identity. He emphasized that the event would be made safe, well-organized, and historic through the effective use of technology, training, coordination, and public participation.The meeting also featured a detailed presentation on the “Simhastha Cyber Security Plan,” followed by the unveiling of a cyber security awareness poster by the DGP. The plan aims to strengthen digital security mechanisms, including social media monitoring, fake news control, cyber fraud prevention, protection of devotees’ digital data, and enhancement of real-time cyber intelligence systems.
Additional Director General of Police (Ujjain Range) Rakesh Gupta outlined potential challenges, including crowd management, traffic congestion, holding areas, sensitivity of ghat zones, VIP movement, inter-district traffic pressure, and emergency response mechanisms.Deputy Inspector General Navneet Bhasin presented the training framework, informing that 7-day, 14-day, and 21-day modules have been designed, including Training of Trainers (ToT), unit-based training, and role-specific instruction. The 21-day training module was formally launched during the meeting, covering critical areas such as crowd control, disaster management, cybercrime, VIP security, traffic regulation, social media operations, ghat safety, lost-and-found systems, first aid, and Integrated Command and Control Centre operations.
Officials further stated that selected personnel are being prepared as master trainers to train forces across districts. Training modules are being enriched with learnings from PrayagrajMahakumbh 2025 and previous Simhastha experiences, alongside workshops and brainstorming sessions involving experienced and retired officers.Superintendent of Police (Ujjain) Pradeep Sharma highlighted that Simhastha-2028 is expected to witness the arrival of nearly 300 million devotes, making it one of the largest human congregations in the world. A multi-layered security and crowd management strategy is being implemented, involving state police, central armed police forces, special units, and auxiliary forces, supported by advanced technology and real-time monitoring systems.
Senior officers, including Additional DGP (Training) Rajababu Singh, DIG Tarun Nayak, DIG (Ratlam) Nimish Agrawal, and other officials, attended the meeting. The proceedings were conducted by ASP Kajal Singh, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Additional DGP (Intelligence) A. Sai Manohar.
