Madhya Pradesh will be showcased in 'Rural Tourism of the World', a Spanish TV series aired in over 80 countries, highlighting the state's culture, heritage, and natural beauty.
Bhopal May 12, 2026. Madhya Pradesh is ready to shine before a global audience. The state’s rich culture, forests, heritage sites, villages, and spiritual traditions are now becoming part of an international television series that will be seen in more than 80 countries. A Spanish production house, Colors Communication Group (RTVV), is currently filming the series “Rural Tourism of the World” across several destinations in Madhya Pradesh. The project is expected to give a major international push to the state’s tourism sector and film tourism ambitions. The series will present a different face of Madhya Pradesh to the world. Beyond wildlife and tiger reserves, it will highlight the state’s ancient heritage, tribal traditions, village life, spirituality, and natural beauty.
Officials of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) said the project reflects Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s vision to promote the state as a global tourism and filming destination. The initiative has also gained momentum after the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Madhya Pradesh and Spain. Managing Director of MPTB, Dr. Ilayaraja T., said this is the first major international collaboration of its kind for the state. He expressed hope that more global film and documentary projects will now choose Madhya Pradesh for shooting. The journey for this collaboration began earlier this year during FITUR Madrid 2026, one of the world’s biggest tourism fairs held in Spain. A Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board delegation, led by Additional Managing Director Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar, showcased the state’s tourism and filming opportunities before international tourism and film industry representatives.
The effort is now turning into reality; The series will feature some of Madhya Pradesh’s most iconic destinations. UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Sanchi Stupa and Bhimbetka Rock Shelters will introduce viewers to the state’s ancient history and architecture. The forests and landscapes of Satpura National Park, the scenic beauty of Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve, and the peaceful Tawa region will showcase jungle safaris, boat rides, and nature tourism. The camera is also focusing on rural and tribal life in places like Tamia, Sabarwani, and Dhusawani. The series captures village homestays, tribal traditions, Gond paintings, local food, farming culture, and authentic farm-to-plate experiences. The spiritual side of Madhya Pradesh will also find a special place in the series. The sacred traditions and grandeur of Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple are being filmed for international audiences.

For the Spanish crew, the experience has been memorable beyond the camera;
A release claimed the Director Juan Frutos as saying that the hospitality they received in Madhya Pradesh’s villages left a deep impression on the team. During their stay at Dhusawani Homestay, the crew experienced local traditions, food, and village life closely. “If you truly want to understand real India, you must come here,” Frutos said while describing the experience as extraordinary. MPTB has been providing permissions, security support, and ground coordination for the international shoot. Officials believe such projects are helping Madhya Pradesh emerge as a film-friendly destination on the world map. In recent years, the state has steadily attracted Bollywood films, web series, documentaries, and international productions. Tourism experts say these projects not only improve global visibility but also create opportunities for local employment, rural tourism, handicrafts, and the cultural economy.
Today, Madhya Pradesh is no longer known only as India’s “Tiger State.” It is slowly emerging as a vibrant cinematic canvas where nature, culture, spirituality, and rural experiences come together to tell stories for the world.
