Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday launched the statewide cyber awareness campaign "Safe Click 2.0" in Bhopal, calling for greater public awareness against online fraud and digital crimes. The campaign was launched at Ravindra Bhavan, where the Chief Minister unveiled the campaign poster, released a cyber safety booklet and flagged off a Cyber Awareness Rath that will travel across Madhya Pradesh to spread digital safety messages.

Director General of Police Kailash Makwana, senior police officers and officials from various departments were present at the programme. The initiative, led by Madhya Pradesh Police, aims to educate citizens about cyber fraud, online scams and responsible digital behaviour, with special focus on students, youth, women and senior citizens.

The initiative has been launched by Madhya Pradesh Police to promote safe and responsible use of digital platforms. It aims to reach a broad section of society, including students, youth, women, senior citizens and other internet users who are increasingly vulnerable to cyber fraud and online scams.

During the programme, Dr. Yadav unveiled the campaign's awareness poster and released a specially prepared cyber security booklet. The publication has been designed as an educational tool for schools and awareness programmes, helping young users understand online risks and adopt safer digital practices.

A key feature of the campaign is the Cyber Awareness Rath, which was flagged off by the Chief Minister. The vehicle will travel through districts across the state carrying information on cyber security, digital fraud prevention and safe online behaviour. Police officials said the outreach vehicle will support awareness activities in both urban and rural areas and help take cyber safety messages directly to the public.

The launch comes at a time when cyber fraud, digital payment scams, fake links, identity theft and online cheating cases are being reported with increasing frequency across the country. Officials said awareness remains one of the most

effective tools to prevent such crimes, particularly among first-time digital users, students and elderly citizens.

The campaign has been designed to encourage citizens to verify online transactions, avoid sharing sensitive personal information and remain cautious while using social media, messaging platforms and digital payment services. Through public outreach programmes, educational material and district-level activities, the initiative seeks to build a culture of cyber vigilance.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Police had announced that the campaign would also include partnerships and awareness initiatives focused on cyber safety and child protection. Public engagement activities, including awareness videos and interactive programmes, are expected to be conducted in different parts of the state during the campaign period.

With the formal launch of Safe Click 2.0, Madhya Pradesh Police has urged citizens to stay alert against cyber fraud and promptly report suspicious online activities through the National Cyber Helpline 1930 or the cybercrime reporting portal. The awareness drive will now expand across the state through sustained outreach efforts in schools, communities and public spaces.
