Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Saturday praised the state police for their recent achievements and said the force has shown its ability to tackle even the most difficult challenges. Speaking at the State-Level IG Conference held at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal, the Chief Minister said public trust in law and order remains the biggest responsibility of the police.
The event began with a ceremonial Guard of Honour as Dr. Yadav arrived at the Police Headquarters. Addressing senior police officers, he stressed the need for quick action in cases involving victims and urged police personnel to maintain a sensitive and respectful approach while dealing with the public.

The Chief Minister said policing today is not limited to maintaining law and order. New threats are emerging every day. Cybercrime, human trafficking, road accidents and crimes against women and children require constant vigilance and better preparedness. He directed officials to give top priority to cybercrime prevention and public awareness campaigns.
Dr. Yadav also spoke about Simhastha 2028, one of the largest religious gatherings in the country. He said a large number of devotees are expected to visit Ujjain during the event. Madhya Pradesh Police, he added, has an opportunity to present an ideal model of security, service and crowd management before the entire world.
After the conference, the Chief Minister reviewed the performance of the Home Department and also interacted with the media. He said the police force had delivered several significant achievements during the last two-and-a-half years. One of the biggest successes, he noted, was the elimination of Left-wing extremism from parts of the state. Districts such as Mandla, Balaghat and Dindori had faced the shadow of Naxal violence for years. Development projects suffered and many lives were lost. According to the Chief Minister, sustained operations by the police, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and Union Home Minister Amit Shah's strategy, helped bring an end to the menace.
"Madhya Pradesh became one of the first states to free itself from the Naxal challenge," he said while congratulating the force for its commitment and courage. The Chief Minister also referred to the police role in ensuring compliance with court orders in the Bhojshala matter. He described it as another example of professional and disciplined policing during a sensitive situation.
At the same time, he acknowledged that new challenges continue to emerge. Cyber frauds and organised criminal networks are becoming more sophisticated. To strengthen the force, the government is expanding recruitment. He said sub-inspector recruitment has already taken place and a drive to recruit around 22,000 personnel has been underway since last year. The goal, he said, is to ensure that no police post remains vacant. Referring to a recent operation against an alleged associate of terrorists, Dr. Yadav praised the police for exposing the wider network behind the case. He said investigators acted swiftly, uncovered the conspiracy and seized material linked to extremist ideology.
Using a strong metaphor, the Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh Police is capable of finding and catching "hidden snakes even inside their burrows," a remark aimed at highlighting the force's ability to track down those who try to operate from the shadows. He expressed satisfaction with the work of the Home Department and said the state police remains fully prepared to protect citizens and face every challenge that comes its way.
