With the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 in focus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog on Thursday in New Delhi. Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors/ Administrators of Union Territories were also present to discuss the roadmap for a developed India by 2047. The meeting is considered the highest platform for cooperation between the Centre and the states on development and policy matters.
The meeting focused on the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the goal of ensuring that development reaches every citizen. Discussions centred on entrepreneurship, skill development and employment generation. Leaders also explored ways to create more opportunities for India's growing workforce while promoting inclusive and sustainable growth across the country.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of cooperative federalism and encouraged states to work closely with the Centre in achieving national development goals. Policymakers believe that investment in human capital will play a decisive role in shaping India's future growth story.
As India moves towards the centenary of Independence in 2047, the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog once again highlighted the Centre's push for a collaborative approach to governance.

Sustainable economic growth remained another priority. Participants discussed strategies to promote development that is both environmentally responsible and economically resilient.
Recommendations from the 5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries also guided the discussions and helped shape a roadmap for an inclusive, sustainable and developed India.
